Preparing kids for a lifetime of active civic
participation
Kids Voting Mecklenburg is a non-partisan nonprofit (501c3) program educating
elementary, middle and high school students about citizenship, civic
participation, government and the election process through:
- Standards-based curriculum
- Exciting community civic activities
- Interaction with public officials
- Community service-learning
- Authentic election experiences
A national leader in civic education, Kids Voting
USA gets students involved and ready to be educated, engaged citizens.
Students learn about democracy through a combination of classroom activities, an
authentic voting experience and family dialogue.
High-quality
instructional materials provide K-12 teachers with valuable civic learning tools
to be used throughout the school year, every year. In addition
to classroom activities
about voting and elections, students also explore the right to vote, democracy
and active citizenship.
Kids Voting Mecklenburg is truly a community
commitment to democracy. It’s all made possible through the support of a network
of Charlotte-Mecklenburg community partners including schools, election
officials, business and community leaders, and volunteers.
