Students, you are the future of our democracy!
Kids Voting's mission is to prepare children and youth for a lifetime of
active civic engagement. We are excited to have the opportunity to work with the
Charlotte-Mecklenburg community -- including students, parents, teachers,
community leaders and other interested citizens -- to help to inspire, inform,
support and involve K-12 students who are exploring what it means to be an
educated, active and engaged citizen.
Every year, thousands of Charlotte-area students participate in youth
activities sponsored by Kids Voting. This is a great way for young people
to experience exciting educational opportunities, learn about government
and actively participate in the community.
Opportunities include:
- Experience elections by voting and volunteering in Election 2008
- Teen programs including Youth Civics 101 and Mecklenburg Youth Voice
- Register to vote and participate in the process: become involved in
campaigns or leadership programs, get to know your government officials, attend
government meetings, read the newspaper...be heard and get involved!
- Volunteering with Kids Voting
